Senior Session | Madelyn Clark | Greenville High School

We’re throwing it back to Maddie’s senior session! She may have graduated 4 years ago, but this post is a great source for upcoming seniors to have some inspiration for their upcoming sessions! Maddie and I worked together to create some very aesthetic images and I hope they help you plan your senior session!

What sparked my interest in working with Maddie was that she had taken modeling classes, was in cheer, and was very involved in dance. When meeting Maddie and her mom, we got along really well! She was so easygoing and down to earth. She was on my Student Model Program during her senior year and each session we had was so fun!

Summer Senior Session

We started her Summer session by meeting in my home office. This was the time we talked more about her outfits while Katie, my hair and makeup artist worked her magic.

We then went to Sessions Lake (Ionia State Recreation Area). I scouted the area before the session and found an area with gorgeous light and beautiful purple wildflowers that complimented her purple ombre hair! Normally my senior packages include 2 locations, but I couldn’t resist sneaking this in and I’m so glad we did!

Our second location was downtown Grand Rapids. We parked at the top of a parking garage to capture the city landscape. After, we walked along the boardwalk, down the bridge, and through the downtown area in her pink jumpsuit! I’m absolutely in love with the outfit BTW. She paired it with a few bracelets, her watch, and nude strapped heels. Keeping her accessories and shoes simple, let her jumpsuit be the main focus, and providing a pop of color.

We went on an adventure to PJ Hoffmaster State Park, one of my FAVORITE locations to shoot at! The beach is small, but it’s normally not crowded when we need to shoot there. It also offers a variety of greenery mixed in with the sand to get a more tropical vibe. Maddie planned to wear a white dress, but she brought another one just in case. She wasn’t sure how it would look. When I saw it, I knew it was a better option to show off her dance skills.

Fall Senior Session

Maddie’s fall senior session did not go as originally planned but I don’t think anyone was mad about it! We came up with a different game plan that included more fall and country elements that she wanted. She had requested barns, dirt roads, fields, and pretty fall leaves.

After hair and makeup, Maddie changed into a cute orange sweater dress and black thigh boots, which paired well with a lot of areas around my house. We even got to use the small sunflower field in my backyard. Most of them were dying and if you just looked at the patch, you wouldn’t think twice about it. But we gave it a try and focused a lot on the flowers that were still in bloom.

Her next location was on a dirt road 2 minutes from my house. She changed into a black shirt, camo pants and boots for this location. The pants were her mom’s choice and at first glance, we weren’t 100% sure that we wanted to use them, but once we were at the location, I knew her mom was a genius. The dirt road and the entire outfit were a perfect fit.

Pierson’s Orchard was our last location. They had pumpkins of all shapes and sizes displayed. She changed into a pair of black jeans, a long-sleeved shirt, and a jean jacket. This outfit allowed us to have a bit more fun with the very large pumpkins and it didn’t clash with the apple trees and the barn.

I’m so glad I was able to work with Maddie! She even helped me with a posing work shop with the Student Models and spoke to them a little bit more about her modeling experience.
