Crooked Cactus, a family-owned CBD company, is dedicated to empowering women through natural wellness solutions. Their range of products, including salves, rollers, dog treats, and gummies, is designed to support women as they balance the demands of motherhood, caregiving, and self-care.

Crooked Cactus: Behind the Lens

I recently had the privilege of photographing two of Crooked Cactus’s key products: the Relax Elixir and the Recover Rollerball. The Relax Elixir is a calming drink additive formulated to promote relaxation and restful sleep. The Recover Rollerball, on the other hand, offers targeted relief for sore muscles.

To visually represent these products, I opted for a minimalist approach that emphasizes natural beauty and simplicity. For the Relax Elixir, I styled the product with a warm beverage, creating a cozy and inviting scene. I also incorporated hand modeling to demonstrate how to use the product. For the Recover Rollerball, I chose a textured background and included props like weights to evoke an active lifestyle.

The Power of Visual Storytelling

Before embarking on any product photography project, I start with a detailed questionnaire. This helps me understand the client’s vision, brand aesthetic, and target audience. For Crooked Cactus, we agreed on a clean and minimalist style, with a focus on natural light and earthy tones.

By carefully selecting backdrops, props, and lighting, I was able to create a series of images that accurately reflect the brand’s values and the products’ benefits. The result is a collection of visually appealing and informative photographs that capture the essence of Crooked Cactus.
