OnOne of my most cherished experiences within the Student Model Program is the Glam the Dress theme. This special project, offered infrequently, gives my models a chance to rediscover the magic of their prom or homecoming dresses beyond the dance floor.

Glam the Dress – More Than Just a Memory

For example, I believe these stunning gowns deserve to be celebrated and captured beyond just one night. In fact, the Glam the Dress theme provides a wonderful opportunity for my models to relive the excitement and confidence they felt on their special night. Furthermore, it’s a chance to showcase their individual style and create lasting memories with beautiful photographs.

Glam the Dress in 2023

In 2023, three amazing models participated: Bailee, Abby, and Tessa.

Bailee, a 2024 graduate, loved the Ionia Community Library for her photos. Her elegant prom dress looked stunning there.

Abby, a 2025 graduate, chose the Ionia County Board-Commissioners building. Her sparkling homecoming dress contrasted beautifully with the building’s architecture. One of my favorite moments was watching Abby bring her unique personality to the poses, especially when she walked towards me. I always compliment her on her natural grace!

Tessa, also a 2025 graduate, added a unique touch. She wore her mom’s vintage black prom dress. We used Ionia City Hall and an alleyway for her photos. Tessa paired the classic dress with edgy black boots. What made this shoot extra special was that Tessa was also modeling a pair of earrings for a local jewelry maker. She wore them throughout the session, adding a touch of local flair to the shoot.

Moreover, all three models showed incredible growth in confidence throughout the program. In particular, Glam the Dress was a reminder of their personal evolution.

I’m incredibly proud of my Student Models. Their talent, enthusiasm, and willingness to try new things make each photo shoot a rewarding experience.

The Student Model Program

The program is designed for middle & high school students (6th-12th grades) as a fun way to get their portraits taken by a professional photographer, feel like a model, and have a unique experience.

Students who apply are active on social media and are involved in school activities and their community. They have reliable transportation and have good time management skills to participate in 3 photo shoots a year.

Student Models have special Senior Portrait Pricing, receive cash referrals, exclusive themes, discounts on prints, digital images, products, and mini sessions. They have opportunities to earn Model Points, which can be applied to images or sessions.

The Student Model Program offers a variety of locations, poses, and a mix of individual and group photos with the other models. Student Models also gain confidence and learn time management and communication skills by working with a professional.
