The Punked Out Student Model Experience

Last year, our student model program took a thrilling turn. We explored alternative styles with our “Punked Out” photoshoot theme. Models expressed their individuality. They embraced a darker, edgier aesthetic. We shifted gears. We moved from vibrant, sun-kissed sessions. We created a moodier, more editorial atmosphere. Specifically, we traded golden hour for urban grit. We chose bold, dark hues over soft pastels.

Embracing the Punk Aesthetic

To effectively capture the Punked Out vibe, we provided models with resources. We offered a style guide PDF. It outlined outfit examples. We emphasized plaid pants, leather, denim, and accessories. Think metal spikes, chains, and chokers. Furthermore, a Pinterest board offered visual inspiration. It showcased punk and alternative fashion. Additionally, our student model dashboard on the website was a central hub. It held essential information. This included theme details, location specifics, and nail prep guides.

Location scouting was crucial. It helped bring this vision to life. For instance, Aubrei’s session was at the Ionia Fair Grounds skate park. This provided a raw, urban backdrop. It complemented her edgy style. Bella’s photoshoot was in downtown Ionia. It was in a graffiti-laden brick alley. This offered a gritty, distinct vibe. These locations allowed models to showcase their “Punked Out” looks. They did so in an authentic setting.

Dark Moods and Editorial Poses

The editing style leaned into dark and moody tones. This enhanced the grunge aesthetic. Moreover, we focused on editorial poses. We encouraged models to exude confidence and attitude. Pink rock vibes were incorporated. They blended with the dark colors. This added a unique twist. It mixed rebellious energy with feminine power. Ultimately, this theme allowed models to step outside their comfort zones. They explored a different side. This resulted in stunning, memorable images.

The Student Model Program

The program is designed for middle & high school students (6th-12th grades) as a fun way to get their portraits taken by a professional photographer, feel like a model, and have a unique experience.

Students who apply are active on social media and are involved in school activities and their community. They have reliable transportation and have good time management skills to participate in 3 photo shoots a year.

Student Models have special Senior Portrait Pricing, receive cash referrals, exclusive themes, discounts on prints, digital images, products, and mini sessions. They have opportunities to earn Model Points, which can be applied to images or sessions.

The Student Model Program offers a variety of locations, poses, and a mix of individual and group photos with the other models. Student Models also gain confidence and learn time management and communication skills by working with a professional.
