Cupid's Day | 2023 Student Model Photo Shoot | Ionia MI

Cupid’s Day is my take on a Valentine’s Day-themed photo shoot! I’m not a huge fan of pink, but this theme is probably one of my favorite winter photo shoots. Something about all the colors help with the winter blues and since it’s inside, we can stay nice and warm!

The Cupid’s Day Backdrop

At first, the backdrop used to be white with paper flowers that I spent DAYS making with my Cricut machine. After the second year, I decided to buy a pink seamless paper backdrop and I left it plain. After another 2 years, I added a fridge backdrop, which I’m pretty obsessed with.

The props are a mix of things I made and bought from various stores or online. My latest purchase was the lip-shaped phone. I use my Cricut machine for most of the paper props, like the heart shapes which is fun for the floor. The one prop that was a must-have and hard to find was Cupid’s bow and arrow. It wouldn’t be Cupid’s day without it!

The Outfits

The student models were given this Pinterest Board to help with their outfits. It’s full of outfits that range from dresses to cute casual jeans and tops. The color scheme is all about pinks, reds, white, and black. These colors of different shades and combinations pull this photo shoot together.

Personally, I love casual outfits with jeans and a cute top, and red dresses come in a close second! They are so colorful and give off this Valentine’s date vibe, whereas the casual outfits, allow for more editorial looks and more variety in sitting poses.
