I have been dreaming of doing a group session with the Student Models in a pumpkin patch for a while. Pumpkins are the perfect fall backdrop and Pierson’s Orchard in Ionia didn’t disappoint! Their pumpkin patch had vibrant autumn colors, the barn, and even crates full of pumpkins!

Group shoots are a little hard to organize. Everyone has such crazy schedules year long, but fall and winter have been the busiest times for these teens. I was able to organize one with Bailee and Gracie and we had so much fun together! Our afternoon was filled with a lot of laughs and the girls provided their own fun posing ideas!

I love to get a mixture of traditional and editorial poses of the high school students in my program as it allows so much variety and provides that “model” experience. The main focus of group shoots is taking photos of everyone together, when I can, I will take some individual photos of each Student Model.

Organizing group shoots with these busy teens can be a bit challenging, but even with 2 students, we always have a lot of fun and of, course the photos look amazing!

I didn’t get a chance to schedule another pumpkin patch shoot this year, but I’m hoping we’ll be able to do another photo shoot at a pumpkin patch next year!

If you have a photo shoot in a pumpkin patch this fall, remember to wear fall-inspired outfits! Leggings or tights and a sweater dress in neutral colors like Gracie’s outfit can let you wear statement pieces like booties with animal prints! You can also wear flannel and a tank top like Bailee with some tennis shoes for a casual look!
